Pemion's transition from perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) chemical materials to environmentally friendly hydrocarbon materials while maintaining the highest durability represents a fundamental shift in proton exchange technology methods. These hydrocarbon materials can also provide significantly higher performance, lower gas permeability, and avoid environmental issues related to the disposal of fluorinated compounds (EOL).
The resulting performance improvement and gas permeation reduction have had a revolutionary impact on the cost of hydrogen fuel cells, manifested in the following aspects: reducing the use of precious metals, extending service life by slowing down performance degradation, and improving efficiency by operating at higher temperatures to reduce fuel permeation.
